Women in Engineering

Pathways

How to get there

Engineering in Australia has traditionally attracted few women, only 6% of currently practicing professional engineers and 15% of enrolments in engineering degree courses nationally. But we need many more!

There is currently a significant engineer shortage. A wider range of engineering courses and greater competition between employers to attract and retain female staff mean women have far greater choice and better options than ever before.

Women bring greater diversity to engineering, a critical contribution to better problem solving. They also bring creative flair, passion and leadership skills.
