Melbourne School of Engineering offers student access to personalised career consultations with a dedicated Careers Consultant. Students receive valuable career advice on:

Industry Careers Panels
Melbourne School of Engineering presents an exciting program of career panel sessions.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about careers, recruitment and internships from a diverse range of industry representatives — from HR, to recent graduate engineers, to executives. The panels are divided into engineering discipline, as well as panels on Alternative Employment Sectors for Engineers, Women in Engineering, and International Students Careers Panel. Come along and have some of the big names in engineering answer your career questions!
These panels will replace the company profile sessions run in prior to 2012.
Industry Night
Network directly with employers at our annual Industry Night. Hosted by Melbourne School of Engineering and led by our active student clubs, this event attracted over 300 students and 30 companies in 2011.

Careers Fairs
The University of Melbourne hosts a number of career fairs, offering students the opportunity to liaise directly with employers who are recruiting from their chosen discipline and learn about the graduate or vacation work positions on offer.

Careers Resources
The University of Melbourne offers students access to a range of online resources outlining interview techniques, networking strategies and career planning. Our students and alumni also have exclusive access to a comprehensive listing of jobs and careers-related events through the University’s online jobs portal, Careers Online. Over 1,626 organisations have listed engineering employment opportunities through Careers Online, with more than 7,000 jobs listed for engineering students. Of these, around 3,500 have been graduate positions and approximately 900 have been vacation roles and internships.
We also encourage students who are considering a career in engineering to visit Engineers Australia’s Engineering Your Career website for more information on the various engineering careers available and their associated duties, work environments and indicative salaries.
