Research Themes
The Melbourne School of Engineering provides vision, leadership and support for our research activities by focusing efforts on problems of global importance, increasing multidisciplinary opportunities and significantly expanding our partnerships with industry across four research themes:
- Biomedical Engineering - in support of medicine and health;
- Information and Communication Systems - underpinning the future of information sharing, collaboration, education and business;
- Structured Matter - the role modern materials play in our world;
- Sustainable Systems & Energy - the future of water, energy and the environment for our society.
These four research themes allow cross-disciplinary research and collaboration for our academics via the Melbourne Engineering Research Institute.
