Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Environment
This 3-year project will commence in 2012. This work will support an NHMRC study “Early environmental determinants of pancreatic islet autoimmunity (ENDIA): a pregnancy to early life cohort study in children at risk of type 1 diabetes” lead by the University of Adelaide. This study will establish a cohort of 1400 pregnant mothers who have a first-degree relative with type-1 diabetes during pregnancy and track a range of information over the first 3 years of life of these mothers/infants to determine genotype, weight gain, insulin sensitivity amongst other things.
