Biomechanics for breast cancer risk assessment

Project description

We are leaders in breast tissue mechanics measurement and computational simulation with over 10 years of experience and many leading publications in the field. Our aim is to use our expertise in breast tissue mechanics to develop innovative solutions for clinicians in breast cancer management and diagnosis.

We are collaborating with Dr. Kate Moodie a practicing breast cancer radiologist at the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre to develop new ways to estimate risk of breast cancer. 

We are also collaborating with the Breast Health Research group at the University of Portsmouth, UK to study the biomechanics of the breast and its implications to women's health. 

We are looking for highly motivated PhD students with interests in tissue biomechanics and an aptitude for one or several of the following: device design and instrumentation, theoretical and applied mechanics, computational biomechanics.
