ACART - Advanced Centre for Automotive Research and Testing

ACART is a collaborative venture between the Ford Motor Company of Australia and Engineering academics from the University of Melbourne.

The University of Melbourne node of ACART is located in the Thermodynamics Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

This laboratory has a long track record in combustion research at an international level.

The research capabilities of the University node are in alternative fuels, modelling and visualisation of combustion, engine calibration and control as well as emissions reduction.

ACART’s research and development activities are focused on achieving improved fuel consumption and lower emissions for passenger vehicles and trucks.
