Peer-to-Peer Networks and Applications Research Laboratory
Advancing P2P applications from the basics of file sharing towards more general and complex resource sharing, process management, and ultimately towards a sea of global P2P applications, requires significant understanding and study of P2P algorithms and network programming technologies.
As network technologies continue to expand into wireless and ad-hoc networking domains, the use of P2P applications will become increasingly important.
The group research focusses on four areas:
- P2P network design and protocols
- P2P data management
- mobile location-aware P2P networking
- software engineering for P2P applications.
The P2P group and NICTA developed network technology to enable Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) Applications
