Guest Lectures
Guest lectures can range from a single lecture to working with the Course Coordinator to integrate a module taught by an industry leader into the curriculum.
We encourage industry professionals to participate in our curriculum and demonstrate how theory learned in a subject is applied in the workplace.
Our students have benefited from the insights of experts from organisations including: Sinclair Knight Merz, Dairy Innovation Australia, Ford, Google, Melbourne Water, Qantas, Thales, and more.
Perspective Series
The Perspective Series offers CEOs (or equivalent) the opportunity to make an impact on students in their first year of undergraduate study, by sharing insights into the big challenges within engineering and IT. With a diversity of presenters, the Perspective Series illustrates to students the range of careers available in engineering and IT. The Perspective Series also enables CEOs to communicate the graduate attributes that are integral to success in the industry.
Melbourne School of Engineering coordinates 2–3 presentations per semester. The audience comprises approximately 250–300 undergraduate students, many of which are deciding whether they wish to be engineers or work in IT. Teachings from the Perspective Series form part of our student assessment.
