Melbourne School of Engineering

Undergraduate Students

Leave of Absence (LOA) is usually granted for a maximum period of 12 months. It is your responsibility to ensure that you complete all the necessary re-enrolment procedures before returning from leave e.g. subject selection, payment of fees etc., and that you check your University email for any important information that may affect you and/or your course.

Students wishing to obtain Leave of Absence are asked to fill out the appropriate form, available from the Engineering School Office.  International students are required to meet with a course advisor to discuss their leave request, as there are new immigration department regulations governing leave. International students will need to fill out a separate form available at the School Administration Office.

Leave of Absence will not be approved for students intending to undertake tertiary studies elsewhere.

Please fill out the Leave of Absence/Discontinuation form and submit it at the School Office.

Discontinuation

Your enrolment will be cancelled. If you change your mind and wish to re-enter the course, you will have to re-apply through the appropriate channels. There is no guarantee of re-gaining your place in the course.

Any student who wishes to discontinue a component of their  combined degree or their entire degree, please make an appointment with a course advisor to discuss the most appropriate course of action.
