Step 1
If you are interested in a PhD, you need to complete and submit an Expression of Interest Form before applying.
Step 2
Contact the School of Graduate Research for an application form.
Step 3
Complete and lodge your application with the School of Graduate Research.
Please ensure that a full transcript of results is included with your application, together with 2 referee reports and a research proposal.
Applicants are required to meet English language requirements as set out earlier in the section entitled English Language Requirements.
Step 4
On receipt of your application you will receive acknowledgement advice of receipt by the University. You should allow about four weeks for your application to be processed and for you to be notified. |

Masters
Step 1
If you are interested in a Masters by Research, you need to complete and submit an Expression of Interest Form before applying.

Coursework students Mid-Year Entry 2008
It's not too late to go further, faster with the University of Melbourne in 2008.
Applications are now being accepted for mid-year entry into a wide range of graduate Engineering courses. Apply now to start your course in July.
Step 1

Complete and lodge your application form with the Melbourne School of Engineering.
Your submission should include full transcripts of all your University study undertaken. An applicant whose first degree was studied in a language other than English is required to meet the Melbourne School of Engineering's English language requirements as set out in the handbook.
Step 3
Allow about three weeks for your application to be processed and for you to be notified.
International students
Research students
If you are interested in a Masters by Research or a PhD, you need to complete and submit an Expression of Interest Form before applying.

CAP (Community Access Program) students
You should complete the application form here.
In most faculties you can simply leave the completed application form with the CAP Officer for the relevant faculty/school. The CAP Officer will arrange for the application to be forwarded to the relevant department(s) for approval and will notify you of the outcome. Some faculties require that you take your application form to the relevant department for approval before forwarding it to the faculty for processing. Your faculty/school CAP Officer will advise you about obtaining approval directly from the department before lodging your application.
