Careers Online

The University's Careers and Employment Unit maintains a free online service that provides a job search facility for current students and graduates of the University and an avenue for you to advertise positions to University of Melbourne students and graduates.

The types of positions typically advertised on Careers Online include:

  • Graduate employment programs
  • Immediate start graduate vacancies
  • Vacation work programs, cooperative placements and internships
  • International employment
  • Part-time, casual and temporary positions for students
  • Industry experience and voluntary work

Although positions tend to be targeted at current students or recent graduates, all alumni are eligible to search for positions on Careers Online.

Alumni who are employers seeking to recruit engineering graduates anywhere in the world are encouraged to utilise this free service. The system recorded 340,000+ logins by students in 2003, the first year of operation, with 45% of all students at the University accessing the service at least once.

For information on how alumni can job search using Careers Online please refer here.

40 Year Reunion by Elec Engineering Final Year '66ers

On 21 February 2007, eleven of the 1966 Elec Eng Final Year held a reunion, starting with a visit to the new facilities of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering on campus. They were treated to informative and entertaining talks on the Department and its NICTA Research activities by the Department's new Head, A/Prof Jamie Evans, and the Deputy Head, A/Prof. Peter Farrell, before being shown over the new NICTA Victoria Laboratory, where they were welcomed by its director, Prof. Rob Evans. It was a terrific visit.

Other Reunions

1994: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Computer, & Software Engineering)

Graduates from the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Computer, & Software Engineering) class that completed in 1994 had planned to hold a reunion in the coming year.  Unfortunately, the small number of interested respondents has lead to these plans being put on hold indefinitely.

If you are aware of recent or planned reunions for Engineering alumni of the University of Melbourne, please keep us informed by emailing .
