Connecting with Current Students
Many alumni look back on their time at University as a period of growth, setting them on the path for both personal and professional success and establishing relationships which will last a life-time.
Alumni are invited to participate in the University-wide Welcome to Melbourne program and host an international AusAID scholarship student in their home for dinner and make a difference to their Melbourne experience.
As an employer, you may wish to engage with students in a variety of ways, including graduate recruitment, internships, participation in the curriculum etc.

Advocating Engineering to Prospective Students
Engineering as a profession is of critical importance to solving some of the global issues society is faced with today. The School of Engineering works with Engineers Australia and schools to raise the profile of engineering and help prospective students and the broader community understand the breadth of career opportunities within engineering and the significant role engineers will play in the future of our planet.
Schools Visits, Open Day & Education Exhibitions
Alumni volunteers are needed to visit schools and education exhibitions with Engineering staff (both locally and internationally) and give career presentations to prospective students. Open Day is also another opportunity where alumni can meet with prospective students and answer their questions about life as an Engineer!

Graduate Profiles
To help prospective students understand the range of career options and the exciting opportunities an engineering degree can provide, profiles of our graduates are invaluable. These would be used on our website or in various publications.

Developing the Alumni Community
Building a sense of community among alumni and helping them connect with each other and School is an important aspect of the School’s alumni relations program. Check out the Alumni Benefits and Services page for information on alumni networks and opportunities.

Reunion Champions
Alumni are encouraged to initiate and champion reunions and events where groups of fellow alumni can connect. With support from the School of Engineering, these events are fabulous opportunities to catch up with friends and staff, and find out what is happening in the School and even come back on campus.
The School is particularly keen to help alumni celebrate ‘milestone’ reunions — such as those 30, 40 and 50 years out from graduation.
To discuss reunion plans for your cohort please contact Elise Everest in the Engineering Advancement team.
